The correct temperature of cold stores in the pharmaceutical and food industries is nowadays more important than ever. Their operation must be constantly monitored. It’s the only way to comply with applicable safety standards and keep food and pharmaceutical products in perfect condition. This requires a high degree of precision.
To help you achieve the required precision, we offer high-level signalling products that convert the measured values of the refrigeration system into visible and audible form.
PIPS signalling device
Within our PIPS range, we have signalling devices that have been specially developed for use in cold stores. By connecting cold stores to the PIPS device, you will be warned in case of danger and/or technical malfunction of the cold store system, so you can take immediate action.
The PIPS device combines visual and acoustic signalling. It offers 64 different sounds that can be selected via a DIP-switch. An integrated button allows you to adjust the volume up to 105dB(A). |
In addition, you can choose a powerful flashing light. It is perfectly possible to combine the light effects and sounds per alarm level. You can also completely separate the sound from the light.
Moreover, the PIPS signalling device is designed to be operational from -40°C. It also has a high degree of protection (IP65). These two specifications make this PIPS signalling device the reference product for the use in cold stores.
Is a signal beacon illuminated?
In accordance with the safety standards UNI EN 378-1, a cold store must be equipped with a visual-acoustic alarm signal. This signal must be visible and clearly displayed to everyone at all times. The signal beacon must strictly monitor any refrigerant leak in order to prevent dangerous concentrations in the cold store.
In practice, these PIPS signal beacons are used as follows:
Red light indicates a hazardous situation. In that case, immediate action is required. Blue light in combination with sound indicates a malfunction of the refrigeration system. A mandatory repair action is then required. An example is when doors are not closed properly to prevent products in the cold store from spoiling.
